The land grant was a Class 2 which means he arrived after March 2, 1836 and before October 1, 1837. He was listed on the 1850 U.S. Federal Census in San Augustine, Texas. He was married to (1) Harriet Caroline Clark on December 2, 1824 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He was married to (2) Cornelia Ginette Price Sossaman on January 1, 1863 in San Augustine, Texas.
