III. Thomas Cole was born February 16, 1627/28. He was married to Jane Lucy. Jane Lucy. Thomas and Jane had the following children:
IV. Stephen Cole, Sr. was born in 1660 in Twickenham, Middlesex, England. He was married to Elizabeth Temple in 1685 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He died in 1729 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was buried in St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Temple was born in 1662 in Twickenham, Middlesex, England. She died in September, 1732. She was buried in the Cole plot at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Chester, Pennsylvania. Stephen and Elizabeth had the following children:
a. Elizabeth Cole. She was married to Thomas Wilcocks on March 6, 1727 in Holy Trinity Lutheran (Ole Swedes) Church in New Castle Co., Pennsylvania, (now Delaware.) She died in May, 1780 in Ivy Mills, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania.
b. Mark Cole. He was married to Allis Evans. He died in 1769 in Craven Co., South Carolina.
c. John Cole. He died in 1781.
d. Stephen Cole, Jr. He was married to Martha Hunter in 1726 in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. He died April 1, 1745 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was buried in the Cole plot at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Chester, Pennsylvania.
V. James Cole, Sr. was born in 1695. He died in 1775 in Natchez, Jefferson Co., British Mississippi. Mark, John, and James Cole migrated to the Shenandoah River/Opeckon River area of Frederick Co., Virginia by 1732. They migrated to the Roanoke River/Goose Creek area in Lunenburg Co.,(later Bedford Co.) Virginia around 1742. This group was headed by George Robinson and also included James, Peter and Stephen Rentfroe. They migrated to Anson Co., North Carolina around 1757. They migrated to Craven Co., South Carolina around 1764. Mark died while living in Craven Co., South Carolina. James migrated to Natchez District, British Mississippi in October, 1772 in a party that included Richard Curtis III, William Curtis, Benjamin Curtis, Richard Curtis IV, John and Hannah Curtis Courtney, John and Phoebe Curtis Stampley, John Jones, James and Mary Rentfroe Cole Jr., and their families. Mary Rentfroe was born in 1736 in Crook Run, Orange Co., Virginia. She was the daughter of James Rentfroe and Esther Van Bibber. She migrated to Roanoke River/Goose Creek area in Lunenburg Co., (later Bedford Co.) Virginia around 1742. She migrated to Ashpole Swamp, Bladen Co., North Carolina around 1757. She migrated to Craven Co., South Carolina around 1764. She migrated to Coles Creek, Natchez District, British Mississippi in 1772. She died in 1810 in Coles Creek, Adams Co., Territory of Mississippi. James and Mary had the following children:
